Mother Ocean's Fight Club

The Philosophy

WAVEBALL is more than just a sport - it's a lifestyle. WAVEBALL engages the player's passion for football together with their most primal instinct - to fuck up opponents and take a licking in the process. However, the only ass kicking unleashed in WAVEBALL is unmercifully administered by sweet Mother Ocean and her whip-cracking, neck-snapping, skin-peeling, glorious gifts --------her bountiful, yet brutal waves.

The Movement

Now in the fourth year, the WAVEBALL MB League has doubled its membership. Constantly evolving, always expanding, and as unpredictable as ever. WAVEBALL as a sport, has now been played in three states, with ongoing international scouting and promotional efforts.

The Rules Are.....

The WAVEBALL experience is loosely governed by certain principles;

Set up the receivers to be eaten by a wave mid-catch.

Expect to be pummeled by that same wave post-throw.

If a wave washes the ball ashore during gameplay, someone fumbled. Drink motherfucker. Point goes to Mother Ocean.

If you bleed, you get a point. Go get 'em, you stallion.

If you complete the pass or catch = 1 point each.

If you are knocked unconscious and/or require chiropractic care* during or immediately after gameplay - you're a fucking legend. 10 Points for you, champ.

*Care is provided by a licensed chiropractor, unless he's the injured.

Any unclassified injuries will be given a point value on site. Bruises don't count, sugar britches. They're badges of honor and are documented for posterity.

If a fumbled ball is sucked back into the deep depths of Mother Ocean's bosom, that's a sacrifice* to Mother Ocean.  New ball is on you, bitch.

* Mother Ocean may, from time to time also demand other sacred items of sacrifice, such as sunglasses, spliffs, hats, and so forth. Mother Ocean  takes and  Mother Ocean  gives....usually with pain and punishment.

MB22: Four Men & A Ball

The Origin Days

In 2022, WAVEBALL was yet to be christened and still in the developmental stages during MB22. But the pieces were coming together. A simple game of catch would go on to become the greatest sport ever. The rudimentary equipment used in the Origin Days was a koozie ball,  fashioned of rock-hard  industrial strength, finger-breaking plastic which was typically hurled with great velocity.  Finger jams were aplenty.

MB23: Cutting the Cord

Enter Gasman

2023 was the official birth year for WAVEBALL as we know it today.  With the edition of The Kid into the mix, the pieces fell into place quickly.  The rules were established, the concept unified, and the competitive itch was scratched.

*Note - BK was pulled from MB23 competition due to Covid, but was there in spirit.

MB24: The Rips (aka 'Fuck Belmont')

Don't Drink in the Ocean

MB24 saw its first (and only!) season balling North of Belmont. The season began with an expanded squad eager to give the business. However, much like a sadistic fortune cookie, Mother Ocean had a twisted message for the lads….

Respect me or be ripped!!

MB24 was also the introduction of MB Prop Bets , being laundered by waves in the 'spin cycle' and included judgmental declarations from our rescuers - who may or may not have been waiting for us to be ripped out a couple hundred yards..

Fuck Belmont...

MB25: Everything in its Right Place

Home(s) Sweet Home(s)

MB25 rewarded the Ballers for their years of local recon and dedication to the sport. WAVEBALL expanded membership, a true Home Base was established, and the post game paradise (aka The Pennant) was adopted as a second home.

Waveballer’s of the World Unite!

MB26 is already in full swing prior to the 2026 season. With the return of the original squad, the tough-nosed second year players, and the addition of a bona fide 5 star recruit, MB26 looks to be the most epic adventure yet.

Big things are expected after an impressive showing for the rookie during MB25, winning the first ever MVP award as a Baller.

The lone international Baller brought it once again in MB25, being his first full WAVEBALL season after tasting the waves briefly during MB24.

The Rookie

Sebby

Only time will tell if the WAVEBALL community is prepared for the latest Baller to enter the scene. A competitive champ in and out of the water, this rook has Jordan-like potential which has the league buzzing like a drunk murder hornet.
